Why I Write Fiction

Fiction, truth reimagined to entertain one's mind.

I love fiction. Many times as a child it saved me from the devastation of reality.

Life didnt seem so bad when I was a mission teacher in Cutter Gap fighting fires and feuds (Christy, Catherine Marshall). When I was falling in love with the romantic strength of a Lori Wick male, all of my worries ceased to exist for that brief moment in time. With Dee Henderson's O'Malley series I felt apart of a huge, loving family. Fiction saved me, it gave me an outlet from reality when I most needed one. Harry Potter gave me something to look forward to, a world so creative I finished each book in a day.

Adolescense is hard and all teens need an outlet, some choose drugs, I chose reading. Reading fiction inspired me to create a world for someone else to get lost in, even for a brief moment in time.
